UAB “EIKA Development”, a real estate project development and management company belonging to the “EIKA” group of companies, has commenced the construction of the oilseed processing and biodiesel production plant of UAB “MESTILLA” in Klaipėda. The works are scheduled to be completed in autumn 2025.
Last year, “EIKA Development” finalised a deal with UAB “MESTILLA”, majority owned by the shareholders of AB “Akola” group, for the design and construction management of the oilseed processing and biodiesel plant. Immediately after the agreement, the design work was started and construction of one of Europe’s most modern plants, which is rapidly expanding in the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone, started in the first quarter of 2024 after obtaining a construction permit.
‘The plant, which will cost around €60 million including equipment, will be one of the largest agricultural and renewable energy investments in Lithuania. It will have the most advanced technologies for oil extraction, processing and biodiesel production. The production processes will be fully automated, efficient and save natural resources. Together with the “EIKA” Group, we will create more value for the economy of Klaipėda and the whole country, for the environment and for the agricultural sector,’ says Arūnas Zubas, Managing Director of UAB “MESTILLA”.

The construction of MESTILLA’s oilseed processing and biodiesel plant is currently well underway. “EIKA Development” will take care of the organisation and management of the design and construction processes and will provide technical supervision of the construction.
